Presenting the exotic kaya cocktail by bitters and love, created with kaya, rum, tea, lemon juice and egg white and others to create a sweet, rum like taste but with something a bit more of a kick. This drink apparently is a favourite with the expats in Singapore, who are looking for a different experience. While the 2 of us locals where the odd balls, who where out for an taste adventure.
Admire the Exotic Lovely Kaya Toast Cocktail
I liked the look of the cocktail, great design, very chic.
Can you see Bailey in the corner looking thirstly at the drink ?
What is Kaya ?
The history is attributed to the Hainanese according to local folklore. The Hainanese worked on British ships as kitchen hands, and created the coffee, toast and french toast by using local ingredients such as coconut jam, coconut milk, eggs, pandan leaf and margarine or butter. And this is now a local favourite.
Thank you for the Beer !
It was a night out for drink spotting to chill out, and we decided to head over to Bitters and Love when we found that there was a private party going on. Wondering what to do, we started chatting with this stranger outside the bar, who turned out to be 1/2 of the owner pair ie .Beverly. While Beverly was kind of enough to get 1 made for us. 🙂 One of the private party guys came out to offer us a beer (Thank You so much whoever it was from AXA). Cheers Buddy !.

What is the name of the Bitters and Love Mascot ? Answer Bailey
While we where waiting apparently Bitters and Love shares the premises with a coffee place called Free the Robot. And Bailey (the cute dog) is the local mascot and sits in the robot window sometimes. What a nice idea, and a cute dog.
